This summer the church spent a day together outdoors, away from the building.

There was food from the grill, long tables set out under the trees, and children running between them. People who normally only see each other for two hours on a Sunday sat and talked for a whole afternoon.

Gatherings like this are not extras. For a congregation largely made up of people who moved to a new country, an afternoon of shared food and conversation in your own language does something a service cannot.
